The session has been designed to help you experience paddling for the first time, to start off hassle-free with the right advice and techniques, and to fast-track your skill development. No previous experience or equipment is necessary!

This introductory session is most suitable for complete beginners, with all gear supplied (outrigger canoe, PFD, paddle and leg leash)

No experience is necessary! Beginners are welcome on all sessions. Most of our guests have never been in a surf ski or outrigger before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a session. If you can hike or bike, you can paddle. The only prerequisite is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure. Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our sessions offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding. We will show you proper technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.
The ourtigger canoe has the ama on the left to help provide stability. But they can still tip over to the right. The more practice the better, but be prepared to fall off sometimes.
It depends upon the session. We have minimum age limits of 12 but also depending on the confidence of the person in the water and the type of session.
Paddling tends to be “easy” on the body, free from the impact associated with other endurance sports.

2 hour introductory session - learn how to paddle

If you want to learn to paddle but don't know where to begin... this is the session for you! Start your paddling journey in a safe environment with our knowledgeable coach. The session has been designed to introduce you to paddling and get you up to speed on the basics in a quick, efficient time format.

We will introduce you to user-friendly canoe and associated gear, the technique and skills involved with paddling, and how to get back into your boat when the inevitable happens and you come off!

2 hour eco session - visit unique locations in Blue Bay

Explore the natural beauty of Blue Bay. The lagoon is famous for it's clear waters, the coral reefs and turtles. Paddling is a non-invasive way to explore this amazing habitat. Taking a snorkle and mask it is possible to explore the corals and look for turtles.

This is a paddling adventure that will leave you both exhilarated and at peace. The tour is suitable for almost anyone (some degree of physical fitness needed) and our guide will ensure you have a successful experience on the water, so join us if you are a beginner or a seasoned pro and anything in between.

Whatever your experience level or your interests we can put together a programme for you. Adventure Paddles are a fantastic way to see new sights and break out of the normal routine, with an emphasis on fun, safe and challenging downwind expeditions and open water trips.

This is our most popular session for paddlers with a competitive streak or for new paddlers wanting to start off in the most comprehensive way.

Paddle & Brunch or Sunset Paddle Drink

Get a fresh start to your day by joining us on a sunrise paddle. In this peaceful bay, you trade the sounds of the city for birdsong and the splashes of jumping fish. Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided once back ro the beach. The session is suitable for almost anyone and our guide will ensure you have a successful experience on the water, so join us if you are a beginner or a seasoned pro and anything in between. Even if you are not a morning person, we guarantee you will love this experience.

Come join our social paddling events! This is a relaxed, guided group paddle event. Paddle around the beautiful sheltered waters of Blue Bay lagoon. Then relax with an ice cold drink and snacks to watch the sunset. If it is your first time on an outrigger, our guide will be there to give you a lesson and get you paddling in no time.
